A Year in Review: 2015
Looking outside on New Year’s Day, the weather outside finally looks a little more seasonal after a balmy December. Although we were buoyed by the warm temperatures, we still managed to keep the content of our vegetable deliveries to 75% locally grown through the entire month…a phenomenal achievement that speaks to the growing demand for a sustainable food system!
2015 was quite the year for the local food crew at On the Move Organics and The Root Cellar. We sourced more than 50% of our organic fruits and vegetable needs directly from local farmers who we know by name. We delivered more than 1000 carefully packed bins by sustainable pedal power. And as a group, we grew to a crew of 29 very busy email responders, box packers, potato washers, delivery drivers, coffee servers, chefs, cooks, dishwashers and juice makers.
For 2016, with your continued support, we promise more of the same and then some. Thanks for making local food possible. We couldn’t do it without you!
